Amazon has revealed a new Pinterest-inspired shopping format, Amazon Stream, that provides users with an endless stream of products to browse through in a mobile-optimised layout.
The format, which separates into items for men, women, features sponsored products with will be updated daily, and only shows prices. Items can be saved to a wishlist, which stays separate from users’ standard Amazon wishlist.
At the moment, the format appears to be something of a test, as Amazon has yet to formally announce it with a press release, as it usually does, and doesn’t currently mention Amazon Stream in its sponsored ad placement options.
However, it does represent a step by the company to improve the shopping experience for the increasing number of consumers accessing the website via smartphone and tablet, and provide an image-focused format that makes browsing easier, especially via a smaller screen.
