Cancer Research UK is introducing technology to four of its shops in the UK that will enable passers-by to make donations simply by tapping their contactless debit or credit card on the window.
The technology, created in collaboration with outdoor media owners Clear Channel, enables stores to receive donations 24 hours a day, and includes an interactive screen that shows supporters the positive impact their money will make in the fight against cancer every time the window receives a donation.
The window, which will take a £2 donation from contactless payment cards held against it, will be introduced to stores in Kensington, Guildford, Marylebone and Brighton from 30 January until 4 February, which is World Cancer Day.
