Fortnum & Mason has launched a responsive eCommerce site. Designed and developed in eight months by Red Badger, the site uses a selection of open source technology including Spree Commerce and Facebook’s React, to handle orders and delivery across more than 130 countries.
Fortnum and Mason customers helped drive the direction of the design and development of the site by providing feedback direct to the development team, based on guerilla testing in the retailer’s flagship store in Piccadilly.
According to Red Badger, in the three weeks since launch, mobile visits to the site are up 77 per cent, the mobile conversion rate is up 57 per cent, and there has been a reduction in calls to the Customer Service team of 18 per cent, comparing week to 8 March 2015 against the same week the previous year.
