According to the search giant, nearly 50 per cent of 25 to 34 year-olds will use their phone to shop while standing in line at a store, and with the long queues of Black Friday ahead, Google is looking to take advantage of this.
From this week onwards, searching for specific products on smartphones or tablets will produce more detailed information including product reviews and which stores have it available.
In addition, certain products will have 360° preview images available, enabling users to rotate them to gain a better understanding of the item.
Google also revealed that 27 per cent of shoppers have already begun hunting for Black Friday deals online, and that ‘what time do stores open on Black Friday’ has been one of the most popular search questions this week.
