Only six per cent of push notifications result in users interacting with an app, with Android users far more likely to react due to the operating system automatically opting-in all users.
Apps from the fast-moving consumer goods industry performed best in terms of reaction rates, with 28 per cent of Android users and six per cent of iOS users taking action following a push notification. Telecom apps performed slightly better on iOS, with seven per cent, but only triggered reactions in 13 per cent of Android users.
