Mobile telecoms company Lebara has unveiled a new entertainment service, Lebara Play, that will bring targered content to migrant communities across Europe through mobiles, tablets and set-top boxes.
Lebara has built a reputation as a telcoms business focused on connecting people across national borders, and has focused on providing products and services to people in migrant communities, from communications to financial services.
The new entertainment platform enables users to access over 150 TV channels and 3,000 movies from around the world, covering 13 different languages with a combination of free and premium services.
Among the channels Lebara has signed deals with are the African Movie Channel, popular Tamil entertainment channels Sun TV, KTV and Adithya, and Turkish channel ATV Avrupa, along with an extensive catalogue of movies in a variety of languages.
The service will have flexible payment options, with voucher top-ups available at local retail outlets, along with online and in-app top up. Content can be streamed through an iOS and Android app, or via Lebara’s website or a set-top box, and up to three devices can be registered to a single account.
