Revolv focused on developing a smart home ‘hub’ solution that linked together a variety of Internet of Things devices, such as sprinklers, lights, door locks and televisions. Revolv already supported compatibility with Nest through its hub device and control app.
While the Revolv hub had not seen much in the way of commercial success, it had received positive reviews for its versatility. However, as part of the acquisition, all the company’s current products will be discontinued. Existing customers will continue to receive the service, and will be able to access customer support.
“We have been inspired by Nest since our foundation, and are thrilled to be part of the Nest family,” wrote the company on their website. “Together, we’re going to create some amazing products and continue to unify the connected home as part of the Works with Nest program.”
