Following two years of major updates – the OS got a new look with iOS 7, and a raft of new features with iOS 8 – the ninth version of iOS is focused on stability and performance. That’s not to say there aren’t a number of new features in iOS 9, but it’s clear that Apple was aware of the need to make the next upgrade seamless for all its users.
Not only will iOS 9 require significantly less space on iOS devices to install, but it will also help to extend the battery life. Significantly for many users, it will include a new power save mode – something that’s been present in Android for a number of years – which promises to add up to three extra hours onto the battery life.
With iOS 9, Apple is introducing its latest tool for publishers to deliver content to mobile users: Apple News.
